Harnessing Regional Potential: Shaping the Future of Research and Innovation in Caraga

Engr. Noel M. Ajoc is currently the Regional Director of the Department of Science and
Technology (DOST) – Caraga Regional Office, where he leads initiatives focused on
promoting scientific innovation, sustainable development, and community resilience. His
leadership is instrumental in advancing programs that address local and global
challenges through research and technology-driven solutions.

A Metallurgist with expertise in gold processing, Engr. Ajoc is deeply passionate about his first-loved profession. His background in metallurgy significantly shapes his approach to sustainable development, particularly in the fields of green technology and resource management.

Engr. Ajoc began his career at DOST-Caraga in 1998 as a Science Research Specialist II. He rose through the ranks, assuming roles of increasing responsibility. He served as Senior Science Research Specialist and Provincial S&T Director for Agusan del Norte in 2005, was promoted to Supervising Science Research Specialist in 2017, and in 2022, took on the role of Regional Director.

His dedication has earned him multiple awards, including the prestigious “Outstanding Provincial Science and Technology Director” award in 2019 from DOST and the “Outstanding Professional of the Year Award (OPYA) for Metallurgical Engineering” in 2023, conferred by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

His commitment to excellence extends beyond his work experience. Engr. Ajoc has garnered several top distinctions in national licensure examinations, ranking Top 2 in the 1996 Metallurgical Engineering Licensure Exam, Top 3 in the 2014 Real Estate Appraisers Licensure Exam, and Top 8 in the 2014 Real Estate Broker Licensure Exam, showcasing his versatility and dedication to continuous learning.

Outside his professional life, Engr. Ajoc is deeply involved in his community as a lay minister at his parish church and is active in volunteer work, reflecting his commitment to service both in and outside the workplace.
