Melbert R. Bonotan is an Associate Professor V at Caraga State University and Director of the university’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI). With over 10 years of teaching experience in Computing and Information Sciences, he is also the Project Leader of MapX, the university’s first spin-off product, where he oversees product development and marketing strategies, where now generating revenue around 13M and from 4 LGU’s onboarded in the platform.

Mr. Bonotan holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from Caraga State University and has extensive expertise in software development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. His leadership extends to various technology transfer and incubation projects, promoting the creation of startups in the ICT and Agri-Aqua sectors. A passionate advocate for regional innovation, he mentors young entrepreneurs like ScrapCycle which is now in full operation in Tagum City, and collaborates with public-private stakeholders to drive economic growth in Caraga where he leads the development of Caraga regional innovation and startup ecosystem (RISE) consortium. Melbert frequently participates as a speaker and mentor at regional and national conferences, contributing to the advancement of technology-driven entrepreneurship.
